Wood Industry/Le Monde Du Bois joins forces with SIBO

Historically, the Industrial Woodwork Fair (SIBO) is the flagship event for secondary wood products in Quebec, but it has not been active for 15 years. Wood industry/The World Of Wood is pleased to announce that the show will be back this year, at the Centrexpo Cogeco in Drummondville from October 27-29, 2022. The location is conveniently located between Quebec City and Montreal and will take place in a state-of-the-art exhibition of art and conference center.

“We are thrilled to be SIBO’s media partner as they relaunch this historic show in the robust Quebec market,” said Mike Neeb, Publisher of Wood Industry/Le Monde Du Bois. “As the only bilingual publication in Canada for secondary carpenters, we understand the importance of the Quebec market for the entire Canadian industry.

Quebec is a vital part of the industry in Canada, representing $8.2 billion in wood products, so it’s high time this show made a comeback.

“While the pandemic has stalled in-person events around the world for the past two years, it hasn’t stopped Quebec’s wood products industry from growing,” said Harry Urban, SIBO Show Manager. “It has also not stopped the development of new technologies, supplies and materials. SIBO 2022 will serve as an important gathering place for industry suppliers to showcase three years of new product launches.”

The show will not only allow manufacturers and distributors to connect with the Quebec market, but it will offer attendees various workshops and presentations on topics ranging from management to technology, covering issues relevant to everyone in the industry.

“We work closely with universities, trade associations and other industry partners to showcase important topics such as finishing progress, workforce development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, including Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence as it applies to the woodworking industry,” Urban said. “Our goal is to provide Quebec wood product manufacturers, large and small, with the latest products and information that will help them improve their operational efficiency and increase their bottom line. In turn, SIBO 2022 will provide a valuable forum for industry suppliers to exhibit and demonstrate their latest products to grow their business in the single wood products market in Quebec.

SIBO 2022 is the best opportunity to meet key leaders of the Quebec wood products industry, most of whom do not attend any other cabinetmaking trade show. Taking advantage of the biennial SIBO show to present your company’s products and services to Quebec manufacturers of furniture, cabinets, windows, store fixtures and other wood products is a fantastic opportunity. In addition, this will be the first major Canadian cabinetmaking event since the start of the pandemic.

“Finally, Quebec will have an industrial woodworking show,” Urban said. “We are delighted that exhibition requests and sales have really started to pick up now that the apparent end of the pandemic is upon us.”

Show organizers have started accepting requests for exhibit space, buoyed by the good news that Quebec is phasing out COVID restrictions. The reopening plan is based on the continued decline in covid-related hospitalizations. Exhibit sales are underway for the event.

“Editor Grace Tatigian and I will be at the show every day and we look forward to chatting with our Quebec readers,” Neeb said. “Please visit us at our booth!”
